What were the most important advantages of the americans in the revolutionary war?

In the war the Americans were out manned and outgunned. All odds against them but they still won. This was because they knew the land better than the British. This was also because they didn't line up and take turns shooting as battles were normally fought they fought like "savages" according to the British.
