For every power of 10, the decimal point moved back one digit, e.g.

123/10 = 12.3

123/100 = 1.23

123/1000 = 0.123

Hope this helps!

For every power of ten as the decimal is being divided, it moves as many times there are zeros. Also, you can use long division and then put the decimal point in the same spot as the dividend.

120/10 = 12
1.20/10 = 0.12
