a+b=2x-2
a-b=4x-8
a=6x-10
a=4x-8+b
6x-10=4x-8+b
2x-10=b-8
2x+2=b
2x-2=b-4
a+b=b-4
a=-4
-4=6x-10
6=6x
x=1
2-2=b-4
0=b-4
4=b
a=-4
b=4
Hope this helps :)
