How are the real solutions of a quadratic equation related to the graph of the quadratic function?

The number of real solutions reflect to the degree of the polynomial. In this case, a quadratic equation has two real solultions or one real and imaginary. When the function is differentiated, there is only one x obtained. This means the graph as only one maximum or minimum in the plot
