2x+3=5

Subtract 3 both sides

2x=5-3

Simplify

2x=2

Divide 2 each side

X= 2/2

Evaluate

X=1

Now second part

2x+3=-5

2x=-5-3

2x= -8

X=-8/2

X=-4

So x= 1,-4
